Harold Ford Jr., the current Democratic Leadership Conference Chairman, and former Memphis congressman is engaged! This news may be sad for some and great for others!Harold, 37, told a New York Post celebrity columnist he proposed to Emily Threlkeld, 26, on Friday during a trip to France.
Want to know more about Emily? She’s a business development manager for fashion designer Carolina Herrera in New York. She picks them well, the picture above is of her and socialite Jaci Reid, taken at Ronald Perelman’s party back in Jan 07′.

Honorable Harold E. Ford, I want to say that I am happy for you and I wish you the very best in your marriage. I pray that God will continue to grant your heart desires. Amen. I am a recent graduate from Howard University. I just completed my second Bachelor of Science degree in 4 years at Howard Uni. My first B.S. in Health Management, afterwhich I completed my second B.S. in Physician Assistant. I look forward to practicing medicine in the fields of Surgery and Emergency Medicine trauma. I remember you gave an intellent speech at Howard Uni. during the 2004 opening convocation. I say “more power to your elbow”. Take care sir. Also, I believe that you will WIN the position for governor in 2010. I wish you all the best. God’s speed.
